10/10!!!! Holy cow what a GEM!!! The food is so INCREDIBLE!!!! I’m actually so impressed! This def my new spot!!
If you didn't know, you would easily miss it. Located past the Subway inside the gas station. There is a sign that says Restaurant with an arrow, but still, pretty inconspicuous. With that being said, the food is absolutely delicious. The gentleman who took my order was very kind and even advised me a very delicious dish. The garlic naan was so good, too. I love paneer, so I tried several different dishes with it and was pleased with each. You can dine in, they've got a quaint sitting area. As I was waiting, a family of 6 came and sat down. I ordered to go and my food was ready in about 15 minutes, which I felt was fair for fresh food. Worth the visit!
This was my second time getting something to eat here. They don't disappoint. I got Chicken Tikka Masala the first time and Chicken Vindaloo this time. Both were excellent. I got the medium heat with the Vindaloo and that was just right.
We visit this restaurant about every week sometimes mutilple times a week. I can say With confidence that it is in our top 5 restaurants in Southwest Michigan. If you are new to Indian food, start with the chicken pakoras. They will be the best chicken tenders you have ever had! I enjoy the chicken saag, and my wife likes the vindaloo.
4th time here I think and I'm sorry to say that it wasn't very good. I remember it being decent curry but this time it lacked flavor and seasoning which is hard to do with Indian food. I don't like leaving bad reviews but my hope is someone from the restaurant will see this and address the issue. I'll probably come back again but if it doesn't change they'll be losing a customer. One person isn't bad but if others feel the way I do eventually the business won't turn a profit and have to close.
Since the news cycle has been Mamdani nonstop, I figured it was the perfect time to visit this restaurant! Honestly, this is the best Indian meal I've had in Southwest Michigan, and I certainly will be back. If you're en route to Chicago, I'd recommend holding off, but otherwise the food here would be a good choice. The Paneer Tikka Masala was the best dish we tried. It had a nice balance of flavors, good spice level, and solid preparation. Considering that this is an American dhaba in a gas station, unmarked from the street, entry through the liquor store and past the Subway sandwich counter, I thought the prices were on the steep side. I understand that everything has gotten more expensive, but the price-to-quantity ratio was on-par with what we expect in the city at a sit-down restaurant. And you should anticipate leaving a tip here as well, if you dine in. As one might expect, there is a large vegetarian selection. More unexpectedly, there is also a full bar with some difficult-to-find whiskey (as I understand it).
We just happened across this place while looking up local eateries and WOW(!) we are so glad that we did. It wasn't marked super clearly from the outside and you may not even find it unless you know it's there. Don't let the unassuming location in the back of a truck stop fool you, this is quality Indian on par with anything in the state. We had the samosa chaat appetizer (pictured) which was flavorful with just the right combination of spices. The naan is fluffy with just enough crispness to it. She had the chicken tikka masala to which she gave 2 thumbs up. I had the baingan bharta (which is my favorite dish of all cuisines of all time). Truly phenomenol execution on their part. Just a hint of smokiness. If you are feeling adventurous and want to try a new dish, do yourself a favor and try theirs. The owner was friendly. Food was on par with (if not better than) any Indian restaurant you would get in a larger sized city. Prices are fair. Madaani Naanstop is worth a trip on its own if you are in the area. We will be back.
So excited to finally have an Indian restaurant in this area! The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the veggie pakoras. It’s a little confusing to find the restaurant at the moment because they’ve just opened but it is worth looking for! Will definitely be back!
